15 Best Pearl Jam Tracks

13. Hail, Hail

This is what you come to expect from Pearl Jam: distorted guitars, attitude and a catchy chorus. Taken from 1996's No Code, "Hail, Hail" was the second single from the album. A much more garage rock influenced track than the rest of the album, the song is a departure from the "grunge" sound of the first albums.

Interestingly, it features a slide guitar part (in a Pearl Jam song?), and is the one of the few songs not to feature a trademark McCready solo. The lyrics tell a story of a relationship in turmoil with Vedder asking "Is there room for both of us?", but it comes hidden in a song fuelled with anger and bitterness. Yet, it still manages to make you want to jump around, doesn't it?
