7 Single Songs That Almost Make Their Albums Worth The Cost

6. His Infernal Majesty (HIM) - Solitary Man

Album: And Love Said No...

Recording a cover of a classic song is almost always a surefire way to garner attention for any release and in this case, it benefits a greatest hits compilation from Finnish gothic rock group HIM.

In addition to fourteen tracks spanning the band’s initial seven-year rise to success, two new tracks were included: the album’s namesake and a cover of Neil Diamond’s Solitary Man.

The former is par for the course for HIM while the latter sees the band take an already somber yet catchy song and apply their energy and charm as if it were their own. While perhaps their least notable studio cover to date (Don’t Fear the Reaper and Wicked Game are comparatively difficult to surpass), it is still a respectable rendition of a great tune.
