And to hammer home his right wing views, when asked by the BBC what he thought about liberal poster boy and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, he said “I want to cut off his toes. I just think there’s things that shouldn’t be out there. I think there’s things that are just dangerous.”
9. Kelsey Grammer
Frasier star Kelsey Grammer thinks Mitt Romney would ”probably do a pretty good job” and that “Santorum’s an interesting guy because conservatives like a guy to be who they are, what you see is what you get.” He also endorsed John McCain and Sarah Palin in the 2008 Presidential election.

I love how liberals claim to believe in tolerance and respect for your fellow man, just as long as you agree with everything they say and have no opinion of your own…. Real nice….
I said on the first page that it is fine for people like Clint Eastwood to believe what they want.
Yes sir, you did say that. I apologize, but you only say that after spending several paragraphs making the case that the average conservative/republican is racist(you didnt mention race in the article but the photo at the top speaks volumes), homophobic, stupid, dispassionate towards poverty, and cruel to animals.
I don’t agree with a great deal of what either party has to say, but I also don’t lump every person who belongs to them into a very small cross section of the political spectrum. It’s that kind of close-minded attitude(on both sides) that has gotten America to where it is today with a government that is incapable of compromise, any type common/fiscal sense, or personal accountability(again, on both sides of the aisle).
I agree with you there, a bit more cooperation on both side would be better and I include the UK in that, I also believe that will never happen as the political system as it is, is designed to work in benefit of the people who are in politics, so they see no need to change it.
But for the purpose of the article, I wanted to highlight the extreme end of the Republican party which I do feel you need to take into consideration when you decide to vote for them.

On that I totally agree with you as well. The system is stacked to benefit those in power, but it works for both parties. The policies of the extreme far right are out of touch(mostly on social issues) and I believe in the long run will not work, nor will the policies(for the most part on fiscal issues) of the extreme far left work either. Those seem to be the only people who ever end up in office though. Until we adopt a multiple party system to generate new idea’s I’m afraid were stuck in and endless loop of getting nothing done….
Robert Downey Jr is not a Republican. He might not be a Democrat either, but he did attend a $50,000 per person fundraiser for President Obama at George Clooney’s place a couple of months ago. As for John Hughes, do you anything to back that up? PJ O’Rourke saying you are a conservative doesn’t make it so. I’ve never read about him voicing his political views.
Pretty much most of his friends like Ben Stein and PJ O’Rourke who knew Hughes for over 30 years have confirmed he was a closet Republican. As for Robert Downey Jr, I refer you to journalist and Hollywood blogger Jeffrey Wells who quoted his source saying as follows;
“His values are pure Republican values. He’s a serious materialist. He loves the great clothes, the beautiful house, the cool cars. He’s a ‘protect the rich’ guy. Why should the rich have to pay for this or that? The people who have it should keep it, and the people who don’t have it shouldn’t complain. And the one he looks up to the most and has been his philosophical guide is Mel Gibson. The Gibson thing is key. Mel Gibson over the years, and who he is and that way of looking at the world.”
“As Roger Friedman reported in 2003, Downey was able to return to movies only after Gibson, who’d been a close friend to Downey since they starred together in Air America (’90), paid Downey’s insurance bond for his appearance in The Singing Detective (’03).
“Downey has looked up to Gibson as an older brother and authority figure and mentor for a long time…Mel said this, Mel said that…all through the ’90s and the aughts. They shared [the late] Ed Limato as an agent. I ask you, how can you be that close to Mel Gibson for 20 years and not share some of his values? Of all the people Downey was close to Mel was by far the most politically inclined and vocal…he was a kind of guru.

And Downey Jr himself said this;
“I have a really interesting political point of view, and it’s not always something I say too loud at dinner tables here, but you can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal. You can’t. I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone else, but it was very, very, very educational for me and has informed my proclivities and politics ever since.”
You know what’s more stupid than George Bush? Labeling all Conservatives and Republicans George Bush-like.
The list is of interest, but the incoherent first page bashing Republicans and convservatives as everything the author doesn’t like really ruins the piece. I would have hoped that a website as popular as this one would have higher standards.
The first page is my opinion as Ive already stated. It is slightly tongue-in-cheek but everything Ive said is fact. It’s designed to provoke and cause debate, feel free to defend the Republican standpoint.

Arguably the most interesting article I’ve read on here. Really surprised at Alice Cooper being a Republican, especially after his drinking and drug habits. Even then, he’s done some musical partnerships with devout Liberals like Springsteen and Bon Jovi. Amazing!

Mr. Downey was not at the Republican convention. Another gentleman called Robert was, but it was not Mr. D. After The Last Party he said he would never attend another political convention for the rest of his life.
It’s been reported everywhere that he was at the 2008 Republican convention.
