9 Reasons Why Tony Abbott Is The Worst Australian Prime Minister In History (And He Only Just Got The Job)

Tony Abbot For those who don't know, the Australian public recently had a general election and the outcome will see Tony Abbott, leader of the Liberal/National Party, become our 28th Prime Minister. And although the masses have spoken, I just can't fathom how people could have looked at this guy from any side of the political spectrum and think, "yes, he is the guy to lead us in the 21st Century". If this guy was a student in any modern day school he would be the dunce and would probably be a special needs child, and I don't mean that as an insult, not at all. He is so out of touch with the modern day era and the 21st century that I would be surprised if he didn't believe the Cold War was still in full swing. Now, some of you might look at that opening statement and say "well, he is obviously a Labor supporter." Far from the truth actually. Labor has its own faults and its fair share of "nameless facemen" and quite frankly, their actions in regards to the leadership blew my support right out of the water. But the thing is, I believe in the concept of "the lesser of two evils," and on that concept alone Kevin Rudd was my preferred PM for he is quite simply "the lesser" in every way, shape and form. Say what you want about the Labor party (or the minority government alliance), they brought in REAL reform in about every department, from education (GONSKI) to infrastructure (NBN) to health to just about everything. Not to mention they kept us running when the rest of the world collapsed thanks to the Global Financial Crisis. That alone right there shows the capacity to lead, regardless of behind the scenes turmoil. Whereas Tony Abbotts response to ANY type of MODERN DAY reforms is quite simply NO. Thats all he says, NO. And then when finally says yes, on the day of the vote he still says no (which I will describe in further detail later). I feel he has shown symptoms of being a pathological liar as he has either backtracked or broken his promises on EVERY level of politics, from carbon pricing and the environment to workplace reform to everything he has ever said basically. For every promise Labor is accused of breaking (Carbon Tax) Tony Abbott has broken five, or at least backtracked on them. And yet the masses felt he was the right man for the job as he won by a landslide.
Now I sit here and read what I just wrote and still can't fathom it. My childhood was spent in the outback (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood was spent in the city (I'm a little bit rock'n'roll), so I feel that I have both perspectives in mind when it comes to the vote. And from every angle, from every spectrum of the political landscape, I can't see how this man can run Australia for either the city slickers and the yokels. And considering what the outside world generally thinks of him (creepy) I now firmly believe that the election of this man to power has made us the laughingstock of the world as it proves (in their eyes anyway) how backward a nation and a people we really are. But don't take my word for it, here are some international responses to the election outcome. "Oz has elected a bigoted air-head to drag them backwards into mean prejudice and vainglorious chauvinism," MP Paul Flynn, England "Gaffe-prone conservative"....."Liberal Party leader Tony Abbott has also scandalized political circles by praising a fellow candidate for her 'sex appeal,' denounced abortion as 'a question of the mother's convenience' and dismissed the notion of climate change as 'absolute crap'," L.A. Times "The idea is degrading and offensive to the dignity of Indonesians." Mahfudz Siddiq, Indonesian House of Representatives' Foreign Affairs Commission ( On a Coalition proposal to buy back Indonesian fishing boats) But what about the people he associates himself with you ask, I am sure they don't think Tony Abbott is that bad? Well lets ask Malcolm Frasier, former Prime Minister of Australia, former Leader of the Liberal Party and in some party circles is regarded as one of Australia's greatest politicians in the history of Federation. What is his assessment of our new illustrious leader?
With this article I attend to showcase not only why he is an unfit leader of anyone but why he shouldn't even have got to that position of power in the first place. And to show why we (well, not me) have effectively handed control over to the Australian equivalent of Sarah Palin.

"This article is NOT an endorsement of ANY political party, whether it be Labor, the Greens or any other minority equivalent. And I will go further on to even say that it is NOT an indictment of the Liberal/National Party as a whole. In fact there is a small minority that are forward thinkers who should definitely be in a higher position of power within the inner circle then the current leader (my opinions on that are my own) and new Prime Minister of Australia."

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
