12 Things You Didn't Know About Paul Walker

Guess who almost played Superman... and Anakin Skywalker?

With Furious 7 hitting cinemas this week, it's an emotional time to be a fan of the series, especially considering the movie's surprisingly strong reviews and general consensus that it provides an affecting, tasteful farewell to the late Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner character. Walker of course lost his life in a November 2013 car accident, sending shockwaves throughout the industry, and it was only in the wake of his untimely death that many facts about the actor's life earned the attention they truly deserved. From his philanthropic efforts away from the camera to a random act of generosity in a Californian jewellery store, as well as various close casting calls and everything in-between, it's pretty likely you haven't seen Paul Walker like this. From his humble beginnings as a child performer to his enormous success in the Fast and the Furious franchise, his career accomplishments speak for themselves, but the abundance of news stories on the man since his death suggest a humble humanist who loved to connect with the great outdoors and help his fellow man. It's telling that there was very little dirt dished on the actor posthumously (as usually happens with dead actors), and the huge outpouring of grief from both friends and fans is a testament to the lives he touched both on the screen and off it. With that in mind, here are 12 things you probably didn't know about Paul Walker...
