10. Tom Sawyer Island Was Personally Designed By Walt Disney

Tom Sawyer Island (currently taken over by the Pirates of the Caribbean) is the only project solely designed by Walt Disney. Disney kept trying to pass it off to other designers, but would take back control every time someone went in a direction he wasn't satisfied with.

9. Tom Sawyer Island Is Said To Technically Be In Missouri

Disney, who was born in Marceline, Mo., felt a strong kinship with Mark Twain, who grew up in Hannibal, Mo., which is why Tom Sawyer Island was built. Legend has it, the island actually has a Missouri zip code, so when you step onto the island you are technically in Missouri.

8. No Smiling At The Haunted Mansion And Tower Of Terror

Disney cast members are generally expected to smile throughout the day at their respective posts. However, the cast members working The Haunted Mansion and The Tower Of Terror rides are encouraged not to smile to give off spookier vibes while visitors wait in line.

The first baby born was Teresa Salcedo in 1979 near Main Street USA. Mickey Mouse later presented her with the first Disneyland birth certificate.

6. There Is An Exclusive, Members Only Club In Disneyland

Club 33 is located in New Orleans Square, and it is a members-only restaurant and executive lounge. Visitors who aren't members can only enter when invited by a current member.
