Killing people makes you hungry and if you need to hit the spot then Pulp Fiction's Hawaiian themed burger joint Big Kahuna is the place to go. Without the aid of Taste-o-vision we just have to take Jules' word for it that 's burger is indeed a "tasty burger" though with it being Hawaiian you'd hope that there isn't a slice of pineapple in there. Like with Red Apple Cigarettes Big Kahuna has featured in several of Tarantino's films, and also features in Robert Rodriguez's The Adventures Of Sharkboy And Lavagirl in 3D, as well as it's most recent appearance in the From Dusk Till Dawn TV series.
2. Wonka Bars (Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory)
Possibly the most coveted fictional consumer item of all time has made its way onto the shelves of real sweet shops on several occasions in both licensed and unlicensed form. The line of Wonka Bars released by British company Retro Sweets Hampers may be authentic recreations of the Wonka Bars from both adaptations but they are basic repackaging of generic milk chocolate in Wonka wrapping and cost nearly 2 quid a bar. This has made the experience of actually getting a Wonka Bar somewhat of an anti-climax.
1. Stay Puft Marshmallows (Ghostbusters)
Although we only get to see the product itself very briefly in Dana's apartment Stay Puft Marshmallows earns its spot at the top of the list by being the most recognisable fictional product there is. Like the real world this isn't due to the quality of its product more due to the appeal of the character that promotes it: Marshmallow Sailor Mascot (and Michelin Man doppelgänger) the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. You'll be unsurprised to know that you too can now roast Stay Puft Marshmallows round the fire at Camp Waconda, but no-brand marshmallows are probably just as good and a tenth of the cost. However a bag of no brand marshmallows doesn't make a nice novelty gift for someone. Any fictional products we missed on the list that you wish were real? Tell us below.
As well as the odd article, I apply my "special mind" to scriptwriting for Comics, Films and Games... Oh and I cut down trees, I skip and jump, I like to press wild flow'rs, I put on women's clothing, and hang around in bars.
