10 Active Boxers Who Could End Their Career Unbeaten

Who could become the next Floyd Mayweather or Rocky Marciano?

There are many boxers that are included in the conversation when the greatest boxers of all time are being discussed but the chances are that they suffered a defeat or two during their career.

Their dazzling skills or immense punch-power may have taken your breath away or you may have been impressed with the array of belts that they won during their time in the ring but only 14 boxers have hung up their gloves unbeaten and as a champion.

Floyd Mayweather Jnr and Rocky Marciano are the most famous examples while there have been fighters as far down the weight divisions as minimumweight who have ended their time in the ring without being on the receiving end of a loss.

As of today, there are plenty of fighters who are yet to taste their first defeat - whether that be at world-class level or prospects looking to earn their first shot at a major belt - and although it is still relatively early days in many of their careers, we think that the following 10 men can join the undefeated list when they decide to stay on the outside of the ropes.

10. Rances Barthelemy

Cuban lightweight Rances Barthelemy only became a world champion at 135lbs as recent as December 2015 but there is already a feeling that he deserves to be classed as the best operator in his weight class.

Like most fighters who originate from his nation, he is technically gifted and he also has the ability to switch from orthodox to southpaw. Most of his 13 stoppages came during the early part of his professional career but he has enough power in both hands to keep his opponents at bay.

Barthelemy - who is undefeated in 24 outings in the paid ranks after a successful stint in the amateurs - also earned a world title at super-featherweight in 2014 and having already tested the water at super-lightweight, it would come as no surprise if he becomes a three-weight world champion sooner rather than later.

His undefeated record could depend on whether he crosses paths with Terence Crawford but if as expected the Omaha puncher finds a home at welterweight, the path could be clear for Barthelemy to clear up at 140lbs.
