9. Felix Verdejo

Felix Verdejo is only a couple of steps behind Barthelemy but it should not be long before we see the Puerto Rican thrown into the limelight.

Verdejo bowed out at the last-eight of the 2012 Olympics but his defeat came to Vasyl Lomachenko - arguably the greatest amateur of all time. He wasn't disgraced in a 14-9 setback and as expected, he didn't suffer any kind of a hangover when switching to the professional ranks.

Since his debut in December 2012, he has scored 14 stoppages in 20 outings and providing that he comes through his next fight, he is expected to be named as the mandatory challenger for the WBO lightweight title which is currently held by Terry Flanagan.

That would represent a step up for Verdejo but there is a feeling that boxing will only see the best of him when faced with higher-level opponents and if he can successfully dethrone the British puncher, he could have a long reign at 135lbs.
