10 Dream UFC Fights Dana White Wanted To Promote

Dream fights. Or better yet, superfights. That's a term that has grown and grown in MMA circles over the years as the sport has advanced in popularity, and more and more big name fighters have been signed to the UFC. Yet despite their almost complete dominance, the UFC has missed out on several major fights between marketable superstars both inside and outside of their organization. Take, for example, The Last Emperor, and Brock Lesnar, the biggest heavyweight draw in UFC history. Brock vs Fedor would have been the biggest PPV fight ever, at least of the decade (lets leave room for future stars here), but Dana White couldn't get it done. Whether you believe it was the Russian mob, M-1, a personal beef between Fedor and Dana, or whatever else, it never happened. It could have. For the sake of the fans, it probably should have. Dana White claimed to have offered an astronomical sum to Fedor's management team, so much that he was actually glad when they turned the offer down. Yet now we'll never know who the best heavyweight was at the time - the UFC's Lesnar, or the Pride legend Fedor Emelianenko. The Lesnar/Fedor fight is far from the only offender though. Fans think up dream fights all the time, and most of them can't happen - someone is already retired, or the fighters are in vastly different weight classes, or fighters are at opposite ends of their careers, or just plain locked up in a contract with another promotion.
