10 Most Charitable Wrestlers
1. John Cena
Was there any doubt? Regardless of how incredible A.J. Styles’ current run has been, we all know that the true face of the WWE is still John Cena.
The man is a walking charity. Cena’s causes include the Boys & Girls Club, Kids Wish Network, Special Olympics, ‘Answer the Call’, Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation, and the list goes on and on…
Cena is best known for his world record of granting wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, totaling over 500 wishes. Cena received the Chris Greicius Celebrity Award in 2009 for his efforts in the foundation. Cena has wrestled overseas in WWE’s Tribute to the Troops show 10 times now, and even has a ‘Cena Scholarship’ fund setup for aspiring NXT developmental talents to get wrestling gear.
In 2011 Cena donated 9 million frequent flyer miles he had accumulated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and 4.5 million more in 2013. Chant “John Cena Sucks” all you want, but his list of accomplishments in and out of the ring is a feat that garners appreciation no matter who you are.
