9. Raheem Sterling

So often the victim of media scrutiny, it seems harsh to single out Raheem Sterling once again, but it's only because we know he can do so much better. The Man City man is coming off the back of a fantastic domestic season, playing a key role in City's incredible Premier League triumph and scoring 23 goals in all competitions.

But in an England shirt, whether it's the pressure getting to him or just a lack of cohesion with his teammates, Sterling has been struggling for form for a while now. He hasn't scored for England since 2015 and has found it difficult to have a big impact on the World Cup so far.

When presented with a clear goal scoring opportunity in England's 6-1 thrashing of Panama, Sterling contrived to head the ball right at the keeper, and he missed a gilt-edged chance in the first game too, despite being offside at the time. He's got an assist to his name and has still been successful with his dribbling and helping to bring his teammates into play, but he'll really be hoping to score a goal before England's campaign comes to an end.
