10 Reasons UFC Woman's Champion Ronda Rousey Might Lose Her Belt Within A Year

Could the unthinkable happen, and Ronda Rousey lose the title the she alone has held since the debut of the women's bantamweight division in the UFC?

Everyone loses eventually. Well, almost everyone. Very few fighters retire undefeated, and those that do usually do so as a result of injury, or other reason. Bellator heavyweight champion Cole Konrad retired undefeated, but his head wasn't in the MMA game, and he walked away. GSP retired (for now at least) with a record of 25-2, but the two losses (to Matt Hughes and Matt Sera) were both avenged. That falls squarely in the "close enough" category. Daniel Cormier is undefeated for now, as is Ben Askren, but how long will those two carry their streaks on for? Ronda Rousey has been, over the past year and a half, a force in the UFC. She has defended her belt successfully four times thus far, and all four defences have been finishes (keep in mind that she was awarded that belt/carried it over from Strikeforce, however you wish to look at it). There has been plenty of competition built up, but no one has come even close to unseating her and ending her reign as queen supreme of WMMA. However, signs of change are on the horizon. The sport of WMMA has grown, and while Rousey has come out of her match-ups relatively unscathed thus far, there are a number of factors, from new challengers to pressure outside of the MMA world, that might cause her to cough up her belt within the next twelve months.
