Louis van Gaal has taken over the reins at Old Trafford in a scene awash with revolution. And immediately, the Dutchman has spent a record figure for Manchester United, and any English club for that matter, dishing out £150 million in a spree that landed Angel di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Luke Shaw and Daley Blind. The revolution, which was refreshed after the tumultuous reign of David Moyes, kicked off under ignominious circumstances at home to Swansea City. After the 2-1 defeat and following draw at the Stadium of Light, United fans began to grow restless with the lack of premium signings. And it wasn't surprising since 56 long days transpired from Luke Shaw€™s switch from Southampton until Ed Woodward€™s hand was forced in a £16m signing for Argentine defender Marcos Rojo. And then of course an international teammate followed in the shape of new British transfer fee record holder Angel di Maria as well as deadline day captures through Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao. Things were looking up. The poor start to the season isn€™t anything new for the Old Trafford faithful to contend with, though.
