André-Pierre Gignac In England, Ready To Sign Loan Deal With Newcastle?

Have Newcastle United found a cure to their striker conundrum, finally, with a move to borrow the powerful French striker from Marseille?

Newcastle United found a cure to their striker conundrum, finally? BBC reports on twitter;

Official: Marseille confirm André-Pierre Gignac is in England, ready to sign loan deal. Newcastle most likely destination.
The 25 year old Frenchman André-Pierre Gignac is the 55th foreign striker to be linked with a move to Newcastle this summer, or so it seems, as Alan Pardew is desperate to boost his striking options for the campaign ahead and has found it hard to find the combination of a club who wants to do business and a player who wants to move to the club (he's only had one or the other so far). Gignac is a French international striker who has played 16 times for France and scoring four goals and has a big, strong build, with great upper body strength and a great aerial ability. He is very much in the Shearer mould but has never been as prolific as the Newcastle legend (few are!), only scoring 8 times in 30 appearances for Marseille and before that 34 goals in 98 games for Toulouse. But with a loan signing in the offing, Newcastle couldn't really lose on this one. The word making the rounds is that The Magpies have turned down an offer from Manchester United to loan out Macheda, so this could be their alternative - a player who has bags more experience. And of course is another Frenchman to add to their large array of Les Blues!
