It was ultimately a transfer window to forget for Arsenal fans as they failed to get anyone, apart from the injured Kim Kallstrom on-loan from Russian side Spartak Moscow. The Gunners flirted with Schalkes Julian Draxler for the entire window and it looked like it was going to happen, only to fall apart in the final few days of the window as the German club clung on to their man. It presents a huge problem for Arsenal as by the time they revisit the situation in Summer there will be a lot more interested parties. The North London side are in desperate need of options up front as Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner are currently the only real options. Arsene Wenger tried to bring in a man on deadline day but failed to do so, which could provide problems as the season progresses. Due to injury trouble in midfield they were also in need of support. Kallstrom was supposed to be that man but his injury just means the month of January has been shocking for Arsenal in terms of transfers. Arsenal currently occupy top spot and have their best chance at winning a trophy for the first time since 2005. However the clubs failure to recruit in the past month may throw that opportunity away.
