Arsenal Transfers: Wenger's 10 Biggest Ever Flops

10. Philippe Senderos

Senderos Phillipe Senderos emerged from the youth ranks up at Swiss club Servette before moving to Arsenal in 2004. His 6 ft stature made him stand out as a powerful and imposing defender and led to comparisons with Tony Adams. He spent six years with the Gunners but toward the end of his career his performances became more and more erratic. He seemed to possess the distinct inability to handle big and powerful centre forwards and was routinely given the run-around by the likes of Didier Drogba which led to him becoming a liability at the Emirates. Where is he now? Arsenal eventually loaned him out to AC Milan, and when he returned, he was again loaned out to Everton after making only two appearances for the Gunners upon his return from Italy. He was finally sold to Fulham, where he today remains. To date he has only made two starts for the Cottagers this season.
