Having steered Aston Villa to safety when relegation looked a certainty, Tim Sherwood seemed to speak with conviction when he said that his side would never be fighting the drop again under his management. Following the high-profile departures of Fabian Delph and Christian Benteke, Villa have moved quickly to reinvest the money gained from those sales and have made several additions to the squad.
