Signed by Paul Lambert on a free transfer from Norwich City in 2013 Steer hasn't made too many appearances for the Villans, but as a goalkeeper it could be that the first-team opportunities will come in the future. Although Sherwood did give Steer a league debut against Burnley on the last day of last season, Villa recently signed keeper Mark Bunn on a free transfer, again from Norwich. Effectively third choice, the 22-year-old might be loaned out to add to the experience he gained during recent loans to Doncaster and Yeovil.
