Chelsea are preparing to make a return bid for Marseille defender Cesar Azpilicueta.

According to Crunchsports.com, Chelsea are preparing to make a return bid for Marseille defender Cesar Azpilicueta. The 22-year-old is seen as a long-term replacement for Jose Bosingwa who left Stamford Bridge at the end of last season, leaving the Blues with a gaping hole at right-back. Chelsea have already had a £6 million bid for the right back rejected earlier this week and are set to return with an improved offer of £8 million. Having joined Marseille in 2010 from Osasuna, Azpilicueta has become a regular player for the club playing in 45 games in last two years. The Spaniard told media last week:
€œI am relaxed and waiting for developments. It is flattering when you have clubs such as Chelsea interested in you.€
Whilst Azpilicueta remains calm about any sort of deal, Chelsea fans have every reason to be excited with the club having already spent over £65 million this summer, having signed Eden Hazard, Oscar and Marko Marin Chelsea have already spent over £65m this summer on the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, and Marko Marin.
