Liverpool Transfers: 5 January Signings To Get Back In Title Race

This is proving to be one of the craziest Premier League seasons in recent memory. Top of the table on Christmas Day, Liverpool now find themselves fifth in the run-up to New Year's Day after losing two successive games to title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea. Their latest set-back, against Chelsea, leaves the Reds six points adrift of league leaders Arsenal and outside the top four - though manager Brendan Rodgers remains confident his side can still challenge for top spot. Rodgers blamed his side's recent slump on a series of injuries - both Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturrridge are out - while his side was further stretched on Sunday. Defender Mamadou Sakho suffered a hamstring problem, Joe Allen was forced off on the hour mark and replaced by rookie Brad Smith and Jordan Henderson sustained a knock. Rodgers admits his squad is "thin" in light of these casualties and will seek reinforcements in the January transfer window as he attempts to get his side's title challenge back on track. The transfer window is open for business from this Wednesday and here, we take a look at 5 signings to get the Reds back in the title race. Click "Next" to get started.
