Man City Next Manager: 5 Replacements For Roberto Mancini

Manchester United's title parade as thousands of adoring spectators flocked to the streets in appreciation, it was the dismissal of Roberto Mancini as Manchester City manager. There were quiet murmurs and whisperings as early as Sunday afternoon, in the wake of the Sky Blues' FA Cup Final defeat to Wigan Athletic, that it was imminent. Manuel Pellegrini, the Malaga coach who is but one name linked with the vacancy, even had to deny a deal was in place for him to become the new City boss on Sunday evening. Mancini was axed because he "had failed to achieve any of the club's targets, with the exception of qualification for next season's Champions League", according to the club, and clearly failure in the FA Cup on Saturday was the very last straw. The abject disappointment that was City's Champions League group campaign in which they failed to win a single game will have helped place the noose round Mancini's neck. The similarly disappointing and outright tame surrendering of the Premier League crown will have tightened the rope. But it is that defeat to Wigan which completed the execution. Now City need a replacement and here are 5 they might have in mind.
