Man Utd: 4 Things David Moyes Must Accomplish In His First Season

succeed the retiring Sir Alex Ferguson, the former Everton boss became the most talked about manager in the Premier League. The 50-year-old now takes on the biggest challenge of his managerial career: he has a lot to live up to after being the €˜chosen one€™ to replace Sir Alex Ferguson. When Fergie retired, he left Manchester United at the top of the English Premier League and gifted Moyes a strong squad, but with that being said Old Trafford is far from perfect, United have fail to win domestic titles in recent years and have started to fall short of European success. David Moyes has a lot to do at Manchester United and could find himself on the wrong end of the chants if he doesn't deliver in his debut season as United boss. Here are four things that the Scot must do in first season to keep the United fans happy...

4. Win A Trophy

FA Cup Whether it is the FA Cup, the Community Shield or the League Cup, Manchester United fans want a trophy. Now whilst a Premier League title would be an amazing achievement for a Moyes and a UEFA Champions League win would cement him as a legend at the club, realistically Manchester United fans would be happy with a domestic trophy. The task the new boss is set to face is a difficult one, the fans know that, and after Sir Alex Ferguson pleaded with United fans to €˜get behind the new manager€™, Ferguson understands it also. Whilst big names such as Robin van Persie, Nemanja Vidic and Wayne Rooney are at the club it€™s fairly evident that United are not the dominant team they once were. For Sir Alex domestic trophies have been a pain in the last few seasons so what better way for Moyes to make an impression at the club than to bring home silverware in his first year. In truth, Moyes actually has it fairly easy, with no disrespect intended to the opposition, United should easily pick up the Community shield in Moyes€™ first competitive match against Wigan on the 11th of August.
