Man Utd: Why David Moyes Is The Right Man

The start to the season has been one of worry for fans of Manchester United and one of relief and delight for fans of their rivals. The team are currently 8 points worse off when compared to the same 7 fixtures from last season with Crystal Palace being omitted due to playing in the Championship last season. They currently sit in 8th place with Arsenal, who sit top of the table, 8 points ahead of them and pundits and United fans have been voicing their doubts over Moyes being the right man to take over from the football management god known as Sir Alex Ferguson. But I believe that Moyes is the right man and that what United need right now is patience. Sir Alex Ferguson did not exactly end with a great squad at his disposal and despite winning the league; they looked distinctly average throughout the season. Moyes arrived on July 1st to a distinctly average team that was one year older, another year slower and another year closer to retirement, unless you are Ryan Giggs who will seemingly never retire. Moyes needed someone experienced to help him in the transfer market for his first season at the helm of United. Unfortunately for Moyes he was unable to use David Gill's knowledge and experience and instead had to rely on the inexperienced Ed Woodward for transfer dealings. He clearly has the ability to manage; he has shown that during his time with Everton. He managed to keep them consistent by building a squad and if he is given the chance, he will do the same for Man United. I am sure that both Moyes and Woodward will have learned from the summer of discontent when only Marouane Fellaini was signed from Moyes' former club Everton. He needs to bring in his own players to take over from the average players that were left behind for him. The United fans need to be patient, they need to give him a chance, he did well with Everton and I'm sure that with time, he will be good for Man United too. Ferguson was given a chance when he first joined now it's time to do the same for David Moyes.
