Man Utd Transfer News: PSG-Wayne Rooney Talks Denied

Daily Mail. Yesterday, we reported that talks had been opened by the French side with the England international, while reports in France claimed the forward was "very interested" in a move to the Ligue 1 champions. However, it is understood that no approach has yet been made to United or the player with Rooney apparently discontented with life at Old Trafford. The 27-year old is still awaiting crunch talks with incoming manager David Moyes regarding his future at the club, after he reportedly asked to leave for the second time in three years. He had fallen out of favour under Sir Alex Ferguson and did not feature in either of the club's final two games of the Premier League season. Rooney is believed to want assurances from Moyes about his role in the team having been asked to play in a midfield role previously. He will also seek assurances that he figures into Moyes' long-term plans at the club after seeing himself left out of the huge Champions League clash with Real Madrid earlier this year, and then substituted in a number of other games afterwards as his relationship with Ferguson deteriorated. United are under pressure to either tie the striker down to a new contract this summer or sell him, as he only has two years left on his current deal at the club, which he signed in 2010 after performing a U-turn when he asked to leave the club for the first time. But the feeling is the newly-crowned Premier League champions will find it difficult to keep hold of Rooney this time as he has now twice asked to leave the club.
