Man Utd Transfer News: Wayne Rooney To PSG "A Done Deal"?

Mirror. Michel Moulin, a former director at the French club, has announced that the Manchester United striker will be joining the likes of David Beckham at the Parc des Princes in the summer. Moulin, who has also worked as an adviser to PSG, revealed:

€œI announce to you from trusted sources: Rooney to PSG is done. He will be there next season.€
Rooney has been linked with a summer move away from Old Trafford ever since manager Sir Alex Ferguson dropped him to the bench for the recent Champions League clash with Real Madrid, despite Ferguson's own insistence the player would stay. However, PSG forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic fanned the flames for any such move recently by insisting "there is only one club to sign for" if the Englishman wanted to be part of "the best project in football". The PSG charm offensive was continued by Thiago Silva, who added:
"If he is thinking of a new challenge there is no better place to be than here."
Rooney's future at United was further cast into uncertainty when he was deployed by Ferguson in a midfield role in the weekend win at Stoke, with the veteran Scotsman instead seemingly preferring Javier Hernandez as a strike partner to Robin van Persie. United's chief scout Jim Lawlor also watched Atletico Madrid€™s £40 million-rated forward Radamel Falcao score twice against Granada at the weekend, with speculation that the Red Devils are about to sign the Colombian gaining more momentum, and thus seemingly pushing Rooney closer to the Old Trafford exit door.
