Man Utd Transfers: 5 Signings David Moyes Needs To Make Before It's Too Late

1. Juan Mata

JuanMata If Wayne Rooney is allowed to leave for Chelsea before the transfer window closes a week tomorrow, United are going to have practically no time at all to find a replacement. It has been reported that Chelsea are going to delay a third bid for the striker until after tonight's game at Old Trafford, with a new offer expected tomorrow or later this week. And that would give David Moyes 7 days to find a new striker. The best option, and one that would work for both Chelsea and United, would be to include Juan Mata as part of the deal. United need a new midfielder and Mata can operate in a central role or out wide, where United struggled last season with Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia putting in ineffectual performances. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho recently refused to rule out the prospect of including Mata in any new bid for Rooney, and it would be a good deal for both clubs. United would be losing a player who has become disillusioned and no longer wants to play for them, and getting a midfielder who was last season shortlisted for the PFA Player of the Year award.
