Manchester City's New Home Kit For 2012/13 Season

Premier League champions Manchester City have now officially unveiled their first ever home kit as defending champions. The club's new home shirt is their official attire for the 2012/13 season and is available for purchase now. The shirt is almost identical to the leaked images from May 19th but perhaps with the shirt being slightly darker. The shirt was revealed with images of captain Vincent Kompany and rock legend and celebrity fan Noel Gallagher taking to the stage. The rather simple but elegant and classy design on the new shirt is actually the product of what the City fans voted that they wanted to see next season. The club and sportswear company Umbro asked fans to come up with their own ideas for what the shirt should look like and this design is what they settled on, incorporating the sky blue colours of the club and the black detailing trim that is influenced from the 1969 FA Cup and 1970 League Cup winning kits. Noel Gallagher said of the shirt;
€œThe new home kit is pure class. It might be the best one we€™ve had in a decade. As modern and radical as it is though, it€™s nice to see Umbro keeping our heritage alive in the new away kit. The best dressed defending champions of all time? No doubt.€
