Moussa Sissoko Insists He Is Happy At Newcastle Amid Exit Talk

After being the latest player to be linked with a move away from Newcastle by his agent yesterday it's reassuring to see Moussa Sissoko come out and clarify his own future.

Frederic Guerra claimed on Eurosport that Sissoko was open to leaving St James' Park this summer should he receive an appealing offer from another club but his claim now lacks substance after the 24-year-old revealed, to our relief, he is content with life at the Club.

€œI€™m happy here and happy to play for Newcastle," he explained to the Shields Gazette. "Every week, I try to give my best performance.

€œI will go to the World Cup and then come back ready for the new season.€

Sissoko is currently with the French national team preparing for the Finals in Brazil after being called up to Didier Deschamps' squad alongside Mathieu Debuchy, Loic Remy and Yohan Cabaye.

And it can certainly be considered good news that the France international has quickly nipped this speculation in the bud and will be back at Newcastle next season after playing a pivotal role in our top 10 finish last term. We've rarely seen Sissoko string together a consistent run of performances in a black and white shirt since he joined us from Toulouse but he is a player still finding his feet in the Premier League and one that will only improve in time.
