Newcastle Transfers: Trabzonspor Bid £7m For Cisse, Marveaux To Follow?

According to the MailOnline, Newcastle United may be set to do more outgoing business today before the 11pm transfer window deadline. Both misfiring Senegalese striker Papiss Cisse and frozen out attacking midfielder Sylvain Marveaux could be set for moves away from the North East after two sides apparently made offers for the players. Turkish side Trabzonspor have bid £6.6m for Cisse, according to the Mail's reporter Simon Jones, though an earlier Mail report suggested that Newcastle were more likely to hold out for closer to £10m after an earlier bid from an unnamed Middle Eastern club:
Marveaux meanwhile is apparently available for just £2m, after interest from French side Nantes, according to Mail reporter Neil Ashton after a disappointing season has seen him all but frozen out of the first team picture, even despite the departure of Yohan Cabaye.
The news on the transfer front has been conspicuously absent so far today for the Tyneside club, despite Alan Pardew's apparently fierce desire to bring in a replacement for Yohan Cabaye, but they have already got rid of Jonas Gutierrez, who went to Norwich City on loan, as well as young Australian defender Curtis Good, who today has joined Dundee United on loan. Whether these two fringe players will join them in leaving the club remains to be seen, but the suspension of Loic Remy would presumably make any deal for Cisse complicated. There's also the fact that Newcastle would face the possibility of having no strikers at the club come the summer time, with both Remy and new signing Luuk De Jong only on loan, and Shola Ameobi likely to leave.
