Premier League: 10 Best Transfer Bargains of 2012

1. Arouna Kone (£2.7 million)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjAXhyIyzv0 Signing from Spanish side Levante in the summer for a relatively nominal fee after scoring 17 goals in 37 appearances, the Ivorian has impressed already in the Premier League, providing a source of goals and creativity in a side that is very much lacking in this department. His record for his new team currently stands at 3 goals and 2 assists in 7 league games, including a goal against in-form Everton, and should hope to add to his tally in the upcoming games against West Ham and Swansea this weekend when the international break ends. Wigan are the perennial 17th team, always somehow narrowly avoiding the drop on the last day of the season through nothing but sheer force of will, and the Latics will hope that Kone's form continues deep into next year. After some mixed results so far, though admittedly nothing unexpected, it seems as though Wigan might be in yet another relegation scrap this season, and a lot of pressure will rest on Kone's shoulders in their survival bid. Rating: 8/10 Should be Wigan's top scorer.
