Venue: Stadium of Light Date: Monday, 6th May K/o: 20:00 BST

Team News

Sunderland will be without Stephane Sessegnon who is now banned for the rest of the season following his red card at Aston Villa last week. Connor Wickham is also expected to miss out with a calf injury. Stoke have a trio of injury complaints with Marc Wilson (hamstring), Andy Wilkinson (back) and midfielder Glenn Whelan (groin) all doubts. Matthew Etherington could be handed a start however after the winger returned from a back injury as a substitute last weekend.

Key Stats

Sunderland are unbeaten in their four previous Premier League home meetings with Stoke, keeping four clean sheets in the process (W3, D1). However, The Black Cats failed to muster a single shot on target in the 0-0 draw at the Britannia Stadium back in October. Stoke have won their last two Premier League matches, having lost six of the previous seven. The Black Cats haven't won any of their last 17 Premier League games on a Monday, a run stretching back to April 2002, when they beat Leicester 2-1. (bbc)
