UFC 148 Silva vs Sonnen II: 5 Reasons Why Silva Will Destroy Sonnen

Anderson Silva by stoppage in round number three. You heard it here first.

This Saturday Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen square off for a second time in an eagerly anticipated rematch. The build-up has been intense and the stare down at this week€™s press conference was heated to say the least. There are many that feel Sonnen provides the perfect foil to Silva€™s greatness. They are wrong. Here€™s five reasons why...

1. His Skillset

Anderson Silva has more tools in his locker than any other fighter. He can end a fight at any time from anywhere. If the action is standing then he has a wealth of strikes available to him to finish the fight whether it be the front kick that dispatched Vitor Belfort, the elbow which left Tony Fryklund a crumpled heap on the floor or the jab (that€™s right a jab) which stopped Forrest Griffin. His arsenal and array of striking is truly terrifying and we have probably only witnessed the tip of a very large iceberg with regards to what he can do inside the cage. If the fight hits the mat, which is where Sonnen wants it, it is worth noting that the two top level wrestlers Silva has fought, Chael Sonnen and Dan Henderson, have both lost to Silva via submission. Silva is a legitimate Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under the Noguiera brothers and has the ability to submit anyone from his back. To put it simply wherever the fight goes Silva can finish it.
