UFC 148 Silva vs Sonnen II: 5 Reasons Why Silva Will Destroy Sonnen

2. He is Not Injured This Time

Last time Silva fought Sonnen he entered the fight with a rib injury which appeared to hinder his performance. His movement was not as slick as we have been accustomed to and it may have played a factor in his inability to prevent the takedown and his failure to get back to his feet once on the ground. The injured Silva was facing a Division I All-American wrestler in Sonnen who grounded and pounded him for the best part of twenty two minutes. However Anderson Silva still won the fight. How big a factor that injury was last time he fought Sonnen we will never know for sure but this Saturday should give us some indications. Whether the first fight would have been any different is up for debate but there is no doubting that a fully fit Anderson Silva will provide a much more dangerous foe for Sonnen.
