Ugh: Valentine's Day! Does a more insipid holiday exist? People men, actually, let's be honest rushing about grabbing cards and overpriced bouquets of flowers and red balloons, all because of some card company execs' arbitrary decision to beef up sales at the tail end of winter? Unfortunately we can't escape it at this point as it's everywhere. Or can we? If this time of year annoys the hell out of you and you'd prefer to avoid it all - the cheesy romance movies or special Valentine's Day episodes from your favourite TV shows, the restaurant where some guy will inevitably propose and make a big scene - and you want to stay in and read something that'll take you as far away from this wretched holiday as possible, here are some alternatives. These are comics that are determinedly un-romantic. They're not trying to be romantic but if you're not either then these comics will be just the tonic to seeing another cheaply manufactured teddy with a love heart sewn over its loveless chest.
