10 Best Performances In Breaking Bad
9. Krysten Ritter - Jane Margolis
Jane Margolis' death in Breaking Bad is a real watershed moment, both for Jesse and more importantly for Walter White. It represents a change in both and an indication of exactly what Walter was willing to do to make sure he and Jesse had no distractions. It's also harrowing and has some of the show's best acting around it from Cranston and Aaron Paul.
But none of the emotional impact would have worked were it not for how good Krysten Ritter is as Jane - admittedly all too briefly. Ritter had got the part on the back of a relentless determination to be cast after seeing the first season, and she was undoubtedly best for the role.
Her Jane is strong-willed and has the suggestion of volatility, all hidden under an initially aloof exterior demeanour and there's very much a sense of mystery and exoticness to her performance that makes it inevitable that Jesse will throw anything away for her.
