10 Best Performances In Breaking Bad
8. Dean Norris - Hank Schrader
Dean Norris has a fairly difficult lot as Hank Schrader, because he has to somehow appear both slightly bumbling but likeable and also believable as a real threat to Walter in the run up to his shocking demise.
He might not have been among the awards nominees in a big way when the show aired (he picked up just one Saturn Award nod in 2011 and didn't win), but all that suggests is that he was unappreciated and it sort of fits the character. Hank is a dependable presence, a nice guy with rough edges and the character with whom we are supposed to most empathise (because of the deception pulled on him by his best friend).
There's more range in his performance than he's ever given credit for as he wades into both comedy and seriously dramatic moments with the same deftness and his death scene in particular is phenomenally well done.
