10 Craziest Fan Theories About Futurama

We are through the looking glass, people.

Any television show with a devoted following is sure to inspire debate, predictions, and theorizing amongst its fanbase, but in the case of a show like Futurama -- a deeply imaginative piece of fiction that created its own detailed, layered universe -- the analysis, discussion, and (let's face it) speculation can get a bit intense. That's not necessarily a bad thing. The meticulous planning of the show -- with Matt Groening, David X. Cohen, and Ken Keeler at the helm -- has seen early-laid seeds germinate into important plot lines, and creative "retconning" explain deeper intent behind seemingly innocent story beats. Analyzing some of the finer points under a microscope may have been less pointless than it seemed. Case in point -- even before season four's "The Why of Fry" revealed it to be true, clever fans correctly predicted that Nibbler was responsible for Fry's cryogenic freezing in the series premiere. Now that the show is (probably) well and truly finished, though, some of the more... outlandish... predictions will never be validated, and they stick out as particularly implausible. This list looks at ten of the most creative, most inventive, and most flat-out insane fan theories about the greatest TV show of the 31st century. Remember... just because they're crazy, it doesn't mean they're not true.
