10 Doctor Who Characters You Secretly Wanted To Kill

Some you love. Some you hate. And some you just want to bludgeon to death with a Dalek plunger.

Some characters you love. Some characters you hate. And some characters you want to sneak up behind and strangle with your bare hands. Any show will have its share of good and bad characters. And when a show has lasted for as long as Doctor Who, there are bound to be some characters that simply don't work. It might be because of bad acting or bad writing. It might be a character who started out fine but quickly became a caricature. It might be that they're a great character, but consistently overused. It might be because of a backstory that's just too improbable to believe. In some cases they aren't even bad characters, you just don't want to see them anymore. They might have been universally loved or hated by all, but deep down you knew that you wanted them dead and gone as soon as possible. With fifty years' worth of characters, Doctor Who has plenty to offer. And because the show has generations of fans who have literally loved the show for as long as they can remember, there are some pretty fierce opinions out there. From the very first episode to the (fortunately) unsuccessful American reboot, right up to the new run that started over ten years ago, whether it's a crappy villain or a washy companion, the fandom is hardly shy about expressing their opinions about the characters. As such, here's our list of 10 characters that you secretly wanted to kill.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
