10 Doctor Who Companions Who Should've Met A Different Doctor
A look at what could have been.
While many brilliant companions such as Susan, Jamie and Amy were written expressly with their respective Doctors in mind, some of the most memorable and weirdest companion relationships come from when their Doctor was jerked out of their lives and replaced with somebody they could barely understand. Sarah Jane, Rose and Peri all being prime memorable examples of this. Hell, Clara has only really started being taken seriously as a companion now this has happened to her.
But then there are the complete fish-out-of-water companion mismatches, for example when Sarah Jane met the Tenth Doctor in School Reunion or when Tegan was paired with the First Doctor who a while in The Five Doctors. Big Finish have capitalized on this with their incredible trilogy which paired the Sixth Doctor with Jamie and Zoe, and their 200th episode range in which the Fifth Doctor was paired with Steven and Vicki. These pairings are brilliant what-if experiments that really highlight how strong the characters in the show really are.
