3. The Impossible Astronaut/Day Of The Moon

Because Series 6's epic opening two-parter has basically already got 'movie' written all over it. An ambitious plot, sweeping helicopter shots of the Utah desert and one of the most popular, original and iconic monster creations in modern Doctor Who memory. That is, until you forget all about them! What more could you possibly want from a Doctor Who film? It's another of Doctor Who's meaty two parters, too, so it's already proven that it's a story that could easily fill up at least 90 minutes of screen time... and then some. The movie would have to tie up the impossible astronaut storyline in one film, though, since it wouldn't have the luxury of a 'series arc' to fall back on. If they wanted to milk the mystery of the Doctor's murder for all it's worth (and, since this is Doctor Who, they probably would!), they could always go the whole hog and turn it into an Earth-shattering trilogy. At least that would be an excuse to finally get Peter Jackson on board, since Earth-shattering trilogy adaptations are basically his M.O. Seriously, though. The Silence on the big screen, with their long, boney fingers poking you in the eye if you're watching it in 3D. Truly the stuff of nightmares, which brings us onto...
