10 More TV Shows In Need Of Revivals

4. The Oblongs

Originally airing on The WB (and later as part of Adult Swim), The Oblongs is perhaps the strangest animated comedy to grace viewer's screens since Ren & Stimpy, and lasted just thirteen episodes. Despite that, thanks to the involvement of Will Ferrell (in his very first role as a voice actor) and its incredibly unique concept, The Oblongs has lived on - and would certainly be a candidate for revival. The show followed a rather dysfunctional but well-meaning family living in the poorest, most polluted part of town (the valley), situated next to The Hill, where the upper crust live. Ferrell voices the family patriarch, Bob Oblong - who was born without limbs, slaves in a factory, and basically hops around on his rear end. Wife Pickles is a chain-smoking, wig wearing drunk, Biff and Chip are his conjoined twin sons, youngest son Milo (who is the protagonist) has numerous mental and emotional issues, and daughter Beth has a... well a growth protruding from her head. It's certainly unlike any typical animated family, but the bizarre nature of the show worked, and allowed it to make some rather pointed social commentary without seeming overly preachy. Ferrell's star status, which has increased since the show went off the air, would make it an easy pick-up for some streaming service or smaller network if he could be convinced to return.
