10 Pieces Of Doctor Who Merchandise You Won't Believe Exist

When you've been around for 50 years, you accumulate a lot of tat and Doctor Who is no different.

In the pantheon of TV sci-fi, Doctor Who is something incredible. Ostensibly the story of a mad man in a box who travels in time and space, saving people almost entirely from their own hubris or occasionally a malevolent race of metal gum-ball machines. As a concept, you would doubt that it has a couple of years' worth of life in it, let alone 50. And yet here we are. Now in its 52nd year, fans are already getting excited at the prospect of the next series under crotchety Doctor, Peter Capaldi, and guest appearances by the likes of Maisie Williams (Arya Stark from Game of Thrones... unless they've bumped her off), Paul Kaye and Rebecca Front. The Doctor's longevity can be put down as much to his astonishing fans as it can to the stories and with great fans comes great merchandise. Doctor Who has some of the coolest merchandise of any TV show. What home would be complete without a couple of Dalek models or a sonic screwdriver pride of place on the mantlepiece? Unfortunately when you've been around as long as the Doctor has, some rubbish slips through the net too. In the What Culture guide to the weirdest, wackiest and, well, crappest merchandise around, we count down the most bizarre pieces of tie-in memorabilia that you won't even know exist, plus the ones that probably shouldn't!
