After their appearance in Matt Smith's first episode 'The Eleventh Hour', Fish Fingers and their natural accompaniment custard took on a new lease of life as the comedy food du jours. In 2013, with Fish Fingers sales on the wane, frozen food giant BirdsEye decided to jettison good ol' Captain Birdseye and replace him with the dashing young doctor to "celebrate" the show's 50th Anniversary. A fairly cynical marketing ploy you might think (and you'd be right) but there will still be a few Whovians with a pack of these at the back of their freezer, trying to preserve their value.
