9. Doug Wilson, "Weeds"
Doug Wilson is a perfect example of a character who overstayed his welcome and didn't get killed off. Arguably the show's biggest pothead, Doug was initially a source of comedic relief as Nancy's business partner. But after the third season of the pot-friendly dark comedy, I found myself asking why he was still a part of the show. Granted I asked this about every other Agrestic resident who wasn't a member of the Botwin family, but they all eventually disappeared. Unfortunately, Doug stuck around until the very end. His latter story lines involved falling for a Mexican "mermaid," leading ridiculous group meetings for the homeless and eventually becoming the leader of a strange religious cult. These all had absolutely nothing to with anything and each story became less funny than the last. It was clear that towards the end of the series, even the Botwins didn't want him around anymore.
