9. Fake-Out Moments
One of the events that made many viewers change channel was when the show teased us all with a truly ridiculous fake-out scene. Of course, we're talking about that time that Glenn was seemingly ripped apart by a horde of zombies, only to appear safe and sound a few episodes later. We've seen fake-out moments before, like when Carl got shot at the start of season 2, and since, like Daryl being shot by Dwight in season 6, but this was the craziest example.
The fake death scene showed Glenn screaming in agony as his insides appeared to be ripped out, but the show later revealed that he was being protected by another dead body and somehow managed to scurry across and hide under a dumpster until the zombies all got bored and left.
Ignoring the nonsensical aspect of this scene (why did none of the zombies go for Glenn's face or feet?), many viewers felt like it was a total slap in the face on the part of the writers and producers; a cheap "gotcha" moment just to mess around with the fans. When shows start playing tricks on their viewers, it rarely ends well.
