10 Reasons People Stopped Watching The Walking Dead
8. Lack Of Likeable Characters
Every show needs characters to root for and get behind, but The Walking Dead really struggles in this department. Part of the issue is that the show continuously changes the personalities of its protagonists (more on that later), but another problem is that it fails to provide many characters with any kind of redeeming qualities. Lori, Gabriel, Rosita, Eugene, Gregory, the list of annoying characters goes on and on.
Even our hero, Rick Grimes, has become a growling grizzly jerk acting without any rhyme or reason in most episodes. Daryl Dixon, once the show's most popular player, has become little more than a guy with a gun, and the defining characteristic of most of the characters introduced in recent seasons is that they're all easy to hate.
It says a lot when The Walking Dead's biggest villain and most detestable example of human life, Negan, is actually the character with the most charisma and wit in the entire show. In the latest season, fans were actually happy to see Negan on screen as they knew they'd at least be entertained.
