Joss Whedon's
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and
Angel were two of the most popular and brilliant television shows of modern times and a major reason for that was the fantastic cast of characters. Aside from Buffy Summers and Angel (the two lead characters in their respective shows and thus exempt from this list), there were a large array of supporting characters who become just as iconic as the titular figures. There were so many that it was very hard to wean it down to a dozen for this article and some very popular characters have had to miss out as a consequence!
