16 New HBO Series You Need To Get Excited About

It's not just all about Game Of Thrones.

They made their name thanks to the likes of Sex and the City, The Sopranos, and The Wire, becoming the home of incredibly rich dramas with characters far more morally ambiguous than those found on traditional networks, and scenes with much greater sex and violence.

The network has continued that trend in recent years, most notably with Game of Thrones, but also the likes of True Detective (the first season at least) and The Leftovers, while also making waves with comedies such as Silicon Valley and Veep.

We're living in a Golden Age of TV, and HBO is the King.

Others are trying to steal their crown, but if you come at the King, you best not miss. These upcoming new shows give evidence that they'll be able to rule ahead of their competitors a while longer yet.
