As sure as day will turn to night, it’s a given that Marvel Studios and countless media organisations would have recognised the success of The Avenger this Summer. Sure enough, Deadline are reporting that a television show based on the so-called Marvel Cinematic Universe is being discussed by Marvel and NBC. If such a programme gets commissioned soon, you can be certain that the production team will want to bring it to the small screen as quickly as possible while the hype for the ensemble flick and its solo standalone spin-offs is still riding as high as Asgard!
But where can an Avengers TV show possibly go, other than to court here in the UK for stealing the name of a much-loved classic drama? We’ve had a few ideas about the directions in which Marvel and NBC could take their brewing project if they should want it to be anything more than a cheap cash-in for hardcore fans and the infinite number of kids still fuelling their action figure income every waking hour.
Here are five avenues the series could investigate, or at least consider adding to its episode roster once it finds its footing…
